Michael’s STORY

Michael’s journey began in 1963 when, at just 11 years old, he suffered a severe injury to his left eye while playing baseball. The incident left him with only one functioning eye, a condition he lived with for decades. As he grew older, a cataract developed in his right eye, further threatening his already limited vision. Despite his best efforts to seek treatment, no ophthalmologist was willing to perform the necessary surgery due to the high risk of rendering him completely blind.

That’s when Michael discovered The Masket Foundation and Dr. Nicole Fram. In a remarkable turn of events, Dr. Fram not only successfully removed the cataract from his right eye but also performed an artificial iris implant on his long-damaged left eye. This groundbreaking surgery restored vision to his left eye for the first time in 60 years, transforming Michael’s life.
